Union FC Macomb is thrilled to announce its return to the USL League 2 for the 2025 season, following its inaugural campaign in 2024. The “pre-pro” men’s team is eager to continue building on its debut season with a focus on climbing the ranks and setting its sights on the Great Lakes Conference title. The core philosophy remains the same: to create an elite soccer program that showcases the rich talent of Michigan while providing memorable experiences for local families and strengthening community connections.
The club is excited to host seven home games during the summer league, offering fans community-driven gameday experiences. These will include activities for kids, locally owned food vendors, and the exciting, fast-paced soccer action on the field.
Union FC Macomb is committed to tapping into Michigan’s deep soccer talent pool, featuring a roster of local collegiate standouts, former professionals, and rising youth stars. The club’s roster will be built with the motto “For Michigan, By Michigan,” highlighting its dedication to showcasing homegrown talent. For many players, USL League 2 represents a critical step toward a professional soccer career.
The coaching staff is returning, with Gronthik Chatterjee as the Head Coach, alongside Rajko Jovanovic as the Goalkeeper Coach. Both coaches bring extensive experience and a strong connection to the local soccer community. Gronthik shared his excitement for the 2025 season:
“We’re excited to build on the strong foundation we created in our first season. This team is all about giving Michigan’s talent a platform to shine while bringing the community together for some great soccer. The Great Lakes Conference is competitive, but we’re ready to push ourselves, climb the ranks, and make an impact. I’m looking forward to seeing our players and fans come together for another exciting summer.”
